SUPPORTED HOUSING SESSIONAL WORKERS (BELFAST)

The service provides supported housing to young people leaving care aged 16-21. The service is transitioning to a high support model. We are recruiting sessional staff to provide support to young people at the project at evenings, weekends and overnight.

Essential criteria:

•           A minimum of full time 1 years experience of supporting ‘at risk’ young people

•           Experience of managing and working with young people in a

group setting

•           Experience of working with challenging behaviour

•           Experience of assessing and working with risk

Hours of work: Currently the following shift patterns are proposed:

8pm – 8am Monday to Sunday

6pm – 6am Friday to Sunday

8am – 8pm Saturday and Sunday

Shift patterns are subject to change.

Hourly Rate: £9.48 per hour

If successful at interview stage, candidates must complete assessed training on the designated dates to be offered a sessional workers position.

PROJECT WORKERS X 4 – FLOATING SUPPORT SERVICE (1 BELFAST, 3 DOWNPATRICK)

The post holder will be:

• Responsible for developing support packages within a team context
that enables young people to gain the skills and confidence to
manage their own tenancies.
• Providing support to young people at risk of suicide/self harm
• Developing new, innovative and alternative approaches to work
with the client group.

Essential criteria:
• Degree in Social Work or Youth and Community Work.
• 1 year case work experience of supporting young people.
OR
• Two years full time case work experience with young people.
• Experience of carrying out needs and risk assessments.
• Experience of assessment and support planning with young people.
AND
• A full current driving licence is required so as to be able to meet the
requirements of the post in full.

Hours of employment: 35 hours/week. Evening and weekend work
will be required.

Salary: £20,710 and pension at 4% of salary.

VOLUNTEER MENTORS (Lisburn, Belfast & Downpatrick Areas)

Mentoring builds a positive one-to-one relationship that focuses on the needs, dreams and aspirations of a young person.

Essential Criteria

  • Complete MACS OCN accredited training in mentoring vulnerable young adults
  • Commit 3 to 4 hours per week for up to one year
