What Is MACS Housing?
It aims to support young people leaving care (16-21) to make the move to interdependence and their own tenancy. All young people are supported through a tailored support plan designed specifically with emphasis on ‘moving on’.
We offer 12 placements across 2 sites:
- 6 one bedroom self contained and furnished flats in East Belfast.
- 6 one bedroom self contained and furnished flats In south Belfast.
Who Can Live There?
- Are 16 to 21 and leaving residential or foster care or are 16-21 and are eligible for Transitional services
- Have a social worker from the Belfast or South Eastern Trust who will refer you to MACS
- Have clear independent living support needs
- Be able to live without on-site staff supervision, particularly at evenings and weekends
- Be able to live without needing ongoing on-call support
- Be willing to work with MACS on managing risk
- Have the ability to get on with your neighbours
- Be willing to accept weekly individual and group based support from MACS
How Long Can You Live There?
Placements last up to 2 years and you will be supported in planning for and throughout your move on.
Our placements support young people to gain and develop living and social skills, working towards securing their own place to live.
