MACS provides a range of support services for children and young people who haven’t had a fair deal in relation to housing, homelessness, mental health and participation as well as providing a Therapeutic Community for children. Our work is underpinned by a strong set of values, ethos and culture.

We are seeking Voluntary Board Members to join a diverse and committed team working co-operatively at governance and strategic level.

A commitment to the values, ethos, culture and objectives of MACS Supporting Children and Young People is essential, and an understanding of the areas in which we work would be advantageous but not essential.

This is an opportunity to join an organisation with an excellent record of innovation, advocacy and in providing and developing a comprehensive range of services for children and young people. The Board consists of men and women from a range of backgrounds with diverse skills and experience, who are working to meet challenges and opportunities in a changing environment

We want to enhance our membership and are particularly keen to attract people with experience in Fundraising, Marketing including social media, HR Employment Law and people with experience in progressive Social Work.

Members will be required to attend quarterly Board meetings and (where applicable) participate in established sub committees such as Audit, Operations & Risk, which meet eight times per year. Or they may be expected to participate in a Task & Finish Group requested by the Board of Directors for a specific issue within a defined period of time.

Induction training and a Board Buddy will be provided, and travel expenses will be reimbursed.
