MACS announced as charity partner of the Grand Opera House Belfast

MACS is delighted to be named as the new charity partner of the Grand Opera House Belfast.
This partnership will support our work with young people across Northern Ireland who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, helping them move towards safer, more stable futures.
Since 1990, MACS has supported young people from a range of backgrounds, including those leaving care, leaving custody or struggling to maintain safe accommodation. Through services including supported housing, wellbeing support and prevention work, we support young people to build independence and move forward with confidence.
In 2025 alone, MACS supported more than 750 young people to avoid or move on from homelessness. However, the need continues to grow. According to the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, 15,864 homelessness presentations were recorded in the latest reporting year, with the number of children in temporary accommodation increasing significantly in recent years.
Over the next two years, we will work alongside the Grand Opera House team to deliver a programme of fundraising and awareness activity, helping to shine a light on youth homelessness and the realities many young people face.
Importantly, this partnership will also create meaningful opportunities for the young people we support. From mentoring and skills development to experiencing theatre and the arts, often for the first time, these experiences can help build confidence, connection and new aspirations.
Speaking about the partnership, MACS Chief Executive Kate Martin said:
“We are really pleased to be working with the Grand Opera House as our new charity partner. This partnership will help us reach more young people at the right time, creating opportunities that support them to move away from homelessness and build more stable, positive futures.”
