At MACS, we believe we are stronger together. Every day, we’re supported by organisations that, like us, are focused on trying to make life better for young people.

Last Friday, we held a brunch to thank these incredible people – It was so lovely to spend time with them face-to-face. Attendees included: Cormac & Philip from the Kier Group, Eamon from Housing Rights, Jan & Rab from Habitat for Humanity Northern Ireland (house 2 home), Jonny from Alternatives Restorative Justice and Joggy from Red Box Kitchen. Others that were unable to attend, but of course deserve our thanks too, include Madlug, The People’s Kitchen , BabyBasics , NI Housing Executive and many others.

A huge thank you to Vape Venue in Ballyclare, for their kind donation of 140 selection boxes for the young people throughout Belfast Floating Support, Prisons Re-settlement and Shared Tenancy! We’re overwhelmed with their support during the Christmas period!

We would also like to extend our thanks to Alternatives Restorative Justice Co-ordinator Chris, their partner An Droichead and the fantastic young people they work with. They reached out to MACS a few weeks ago to offer donations of some fabulous care packages to our young people. These packages included warm clothing, toiletries and treats presented in festive Christmas bags. They also raised £62 through a coffee morning that will be used to buy other essentials for our young people over Christmas.
NI Alternatives have been a long time supporter of MACS and Jonny, STARS Project Lead, also came along to our supporters’ thank you brunch last week.

Yesterday, on a rainy Sunday, one of our incredible supporters donated 20 Christmas hampers for our most in-need young people. Massive thanks to People’s Kitchen Belfast and Paul McCusker for supporting young people 365 days a year. You’re all amazing. Also, a shout out to the man, the legend, who, at this stage, is a bit of a celebrity in MACS, our Tony! As always, he greeted us with a big smile and was on hand, volunteering for People’s kitchen and loaded up my car for me. It’s young people like Tony that inspire us to do this job.

Many thanks to Wendy from Jobs and Benefits who dropped into Newry Housing to leave in some lovely gift bags and vouchers for our young people!

We would also like to say an enormous thank you to BMSA who held a quiz in aid of MACS and raised a whopping £636! Thanks for inviting us too – it was great craic and got us into the Christmas Spirit!

Happy Christmas to all!
