At MACS, our vision is an end to youth homelessness in Northern Ireland. Our Floating Support service helps young people aged 16-25 who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or struggling to maintain their tenancy.

We call it Floating Support because we bring the service to you – wherever you are.

How we can help

We work with you to create a personalised support plan, regularly reviewing it to ensure we’re meeting your needs. We can support you for up to two years with:

  • Finding accommodation
  • Setting up and maintaining your home
  • Being a good neighbour
  • Managing your money
  • Accessing training, education & employment
  • Staying safe
  • Looking after your mental & physical well-being

Where we work

We offer Floating Support in the following areas:

Referral process

We accept referrals from services, organisations, and young people themselves. Our support is voluntary, meaning you must want to engage with the service.

Step 1

Once we receive a referral, we will contact you within two weeks for a Getting to Know You meeting.

Step 2

We will then arrange a Match Meeting to assess if and when we can provide support.

Step 3

You and the referrer will be informed of our decision.

Step 4

Support is prioritised based on need, and if there is a waiting list, no one waits longer than three months.
