Take the Plunge for MACS this June

This June, we are inviting our supporters to Take the Plunge and help raise vital funds for MACS as we work towards our vision of an end to youth homelessness in Northern Ireland.
The challenge is simple: complete eight cold water dips during the month of June and ask friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you along the way.
Why eight dips?
Around one in eight people presenting as homeless or recorded as legally homeless in Northern Ireland are aged between 16 and 25. Every dip is a reminder of the young people across our communities facing homelessness, housing insecurity, poor mental health and uncertainty about the future.
You can take part wherever suits you. Whether that’s a sea swim, a lake dip, a cold plunge in your garden, or a visit to your local cold water therapy facility, every dip and every donation will help make a difference.
At MACS, we support children and young people aged 11–25 who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or struggling with their mental health and wellbeing. Every year, we work alongside hundreds of young people across Northern Ireland, providing practical support, safe accommodation, wellbeing services and opportunities to help them build brighter futures.
For many young people, homelessness is about much more than not having a place to stay. It can impact mental health, education, employment, relationships and confidence. Through our services, we help young people find safety, stability and hope during some of the most challenging times in their lives.
By taking part in Take the Plunge, you will be helping MACS continue this vital work. The funds raised will support services that empower young people to move forward.
Staying Safe
If you’re taking part in Take the Plunge, please remember to put safety first:
Never enter water alone
Check weather and water conditions before entering
Start slowly and build up gradually
Wear appropriate clothing and footwear where needed
Exit the water immediately if you feel unwell
Follow local guidance and safety advice
Please only take part in activities that are suitable for your experience, ability and health.
Together, we can Take the Plunge and help create brighter futures for young people across Northern Ireland.
