As part of Belfast Floating Support we have a Shared Tenancy Coordinator, funded by The Northern Ireland Housing Executive.
The service has been developed to support young people experiencing homelessness who want to explore shared living.
As the cost of living has increased, this can make it difficult for young people to find affordable housing in an area of their choice. For some young people, moving into their own place for the first time can be an anxious time. As such, sharing a house can provide many benefits from being more affordable to having a housemate for peer support and company!
MACS will work with young people interested in sharing to match them to a like-minded person and prepare them for shared living through our tenancy ready programme.
We hope that by working collaboratively across services that young people will have more choice and opportunities to secure housing in their communities.
